Yeh.. got something for my car.. bought this hello kitty emblem from Singapore 2 years back in a hello kitty store to celebrate my new driving license.. :D

It was sticked at the car back and so cute.. :D

Then recently I found a matching hello kitty mirror at Parkson KLCC! It cost RM160 ya its kinda pricey.. I was on-and-off staring at it for more than 20 minutes thinking whether to buy it or not.. what the heck.. grap it at the end.. :D

I bought it as was thinking might wear it during gastric pain days.. As the bra strap could make me 'suffocated' in pain sometimes.. this would be pain relief for me..

These products are all bought from lowyat forum trade zone.. and they are cheap and interesting.. :D

Sushi Tei? NO.

Today is Saturday.. and its not a normal Saturday to go out as massive jams out there as the roadblocks are set all over the places entering KL city for ISA protest prevention.. I was not sure whether my assumption was right but I chose to avoid big malls and shopped at Tropicana City Mall today.. This would be my second visit since newly launched and this time most shops had opened.. quite happy there as not madly crowded as in 1U or MV during weekends.. parking was easy too.. We were looking for late lunch and walkaround until we saw Sushi Tei.. the layout of the menu was 99% lookalike as Sushi Zanmai so I asked the waitress who greeted us at the entrance was it related to Sushi Zanmai.. she said no.. ok then as the the menu and price really similar as Sushi Zanmai so we wanna try it out for comparison.. It turned out to be a big disappointment! The food quality in Sushi Zanmai is alot way better than Sushi Tei.. I wonder who is the copycat as Sushi Tei seems to have a few joints in SEA.. ?_?

Sushi Tei? No no for me.. -_-" A good deal of sushi? I would definitely choose Sushi Zanmai..

After the meal we headed to GSC for the latest hongkie movie named 'Overheard'<竊聽風雲>.. a highly anticipated movie by a few of my favourite macho actors.. its a good movie with good actors (really!).. :D

ikea carpet

ikea is on sales! but not for this piece of carpet.. my sis came over to kl and carried this 10kg weight of colorful rainbow carpet back to hometown for her new sofa set.. she purposely shhhh me not to let her hubby knows about the carpet is selling on nett price.. hohoho oppps i dont think her hubby reads this.. :p

just now she mms me.. wow.. isnt it a great color combination? like united colors of benetton.. it would be a surprise for her kids after school.. they must love it and the whole family can play lego on it.. :D

Bargain Books

Popular's book fair started today at Ikano.. bought a few bargain books at RM3 or RM5 each which are like 70% to 80% off.. whooooooooooooooa.. but then how long will I keep them unread until I finish the rest of the other books which I bought like few weeks or months or year or years ago? Just too many and lost count.. the other day 大扫除 and threw away hundreds worth of old and not so old magazines.. still left many new and not so new behind.. but dont you dare to throw my books away!! :<

This morning I almost pensan and panic! Trying to check emails thru my Microsoft Outlook but it was not working.. I thought it might be my wifi problem again but then I could still google impossible and the internet worked fine.. omg then I realised my 1 year subscription of my domain was just expired 2 days ago! I have totally abondoned the email addie that I used to subscribe the domain and didnt realise they had actually sent me a few reminders for renewal.. I panic and quickly surf if my domain name was still available.. i was shocked and almost cried when it shown 'taken'.. boooooooooooooo.. if i lost my domain.. how am I supposed to email with my other biz fellows?? omg.. luckily later I found out it was 'taken' by my domain host STILL and I could renew it.. within 0.1 second I quickly renew via online payment.. I was so blur as it was my first time doing renewal.. Ah yes.. I used www.namecheap.com for domain registration which is really affordable.. and I am really happy with them as they keep my domain eventhough it has expired.. phewww.. :D

Lesson to learn: start utilise my phone calendar and save all the important dates / to do list to avoid further panicking.. which I hardly practise.. :p

Bon Odori

Yeh.. finally decided to go to Bon Odori at Shah Alam.. the nearest parking we could find was at the JVC plant and walked over.. saw a few dressed in gothic cosplay costumes eventhough they should not be allowed into the stadium.. many dressed in kimono too.. like the 3 kawaii gals above.. :)

the drums play started at 7pm sharp.. after that we walked to the food stalls hoping for some yakitori kinda japanese food.. from afar we saw the hazy or smoke coming from that food direction.. I thought it might be the bbq smoke who knows it turned out to be the sand dust as too many walking around the sand ground near the food stalls.. it was so terrible until after I left the place I could find dust in my nostril.. o_O

anyway I tried their grilled squid for RM10.. grilled beef balls for RM6 and mocha ice cream for RM5.. afterall it was a little japanese fair.. they even set up a temporary sushi king rotate sushi bar for patrons makan while standing around.. livita was selling at RM1 each.. even yakult was having a recruitment booth..

the most heartwarming of the night was seeing hundreds or thousands joining circle and bon dancing together no matter you knew the person next to you or not.. it must had been a fun night for the whole family!

This late morning went to Peel Road for some Yong Tao Fu.. the bittergourd is like 2cm thick woww.. I was quite full with 2 pieces of bittergourd with 2 pieces of brinjal.. Afterward we headed to Mega Mall for some window shopping.. There was a SKII promotion counter at the Ground Central.. I read from the magazine and always curious on how the facial treatment essence works wonder on women's faces.. the selling price is RM328 which is quite pricey.. then I realised what the heck as we have only one face.. I am using the Biotherm Aquasource skincare for over 1 year now but my skin still feels dehydrate in some extend.. So I walked to Isetan at Gardens hoping there was sales like every RM100 spent would get free RM10 voucher.. but no.. cosmetic sales was over.. ok maybe I can collect points then.. ahhh RM328 = 328 points I guess.. After I made payment then I noticed the new points in my receipt was only 33.. haiiiz.. the cashier then told me for every RM100 purchase on cosmetic only entitled for 10 points.. -_-"

Fine.. Then I walked to the Mastercard promotion counter in Mega Mall hoping I could get free gift as they claimed every RM200 purchase by Mastercard can get free gift during sales period.. who knows the master guy told me any retail purchase made from isetan was not included.. -_-"

ok.. maybe I was conned in a way or my way hohoho.. anyway I wish my new SKII miracle water can work magic and improve my dehydrated skin.. :D

Last night we passed thru sungaiwang.. the road was still jammed as early as 1.30am.. many especially young people celebrating their chrismas eve and countdown in bukit bintang area.. yes christmas is a joyous season you can have fun I know but why these people can just simply throw rubbish all over the places after having fun? rubbish such as soft drink cans, bottles and those bom-bom celebration kits were not only be found in walkways but also in the main road.. malaysia boleh!

These people should send for caning! see the compressed cans.. they are everywhere! eeeeeeee.. really kurang ajar..

i went to watch this movie this afternoon.. i believe most of us go for the movie because of keanu reeves..long time no see.. he is now a 'charming' alien named kiaatu who always dressed neatly in a suit till the very end of the movie.. there was a part i laughed when he spoke a few sentences in mandarin as he met with a chinese alien in mcdonalds.. the movie is about loving and saving our mother earth by fixing our human race and global warming issues.. or else it will be destroyed by our own aliens.. overall the movie is not explosive enough.. just for the sake of keanu kiaatu..arr.. and his giant robot.. i think its cool..

sushi zanmai's rice burger

i like mos burger.. thats why everytime i visited singapore i would definitely hop into mos chain.. but good newssss.. the rice burger is finally back in malaysia! last week as usual we took a queue at sushi zanmai and noticed the banner stand stated some promotion on different types of rice burger for a limited time only.. my eyes O_O with sparkles.. hoho..

the first week promotion is yakiniku rice burger.. lucky enough i was there for their first day launch.. 'yeh'.. i like it so much that i almost believe the taste is better than the mos.. or maybe i had waited too long for mos hunger and gave in.. hoho.. the rice coated burger is actually dry unlike the moist rich mos.. but then i think it is quite reasonable for the price of around RM8 with nice dish deco..

then today i went to sushi zanmai at 1utama.. this round i tried the unagi rice burger.. arr.. i would say i prefer the yakiniku rice burger with the dried garlics.. i wonder how their tempura rice burger taste like? let me find out next week ya.. yep!

eh.. the biscuit loves yakitori.. the biscuit has tasted quite a few of yakitori in town and so far this is the best of the best in kl!!!!!!

the biscuit winner goes to tenichi-bo and it is located inside the plaza ampang at 2nd floor (a hidden gem).. at first the biscuit had a hard time finding the place as the shopping mall is kinda confusing especially after coming out from the basement carpark.. but once you locate the yakitori shop you will find a lift nearby..

yasai stick as appetizer- fresh vegie sticks dip with miso paste @ rm10

atsuage - 2 blocks of grilled tofu @ rm3 per stick

kawa - grilled chicken skin @ rm3 per stick

ehh.. the biscuit cant recall the name.. chicken meat wrapped with cheese (??) come with plum sauce..

ginnan - grilled japanese gingko nuts @ rm3 per stick.. what a tiny nut or bean but a must try :)

zuri - grilled gizzard @ rm3 per stick

kimo - grilled liver @ rm3 per stick

onigiri - grilled rice ball @rm4 each

teba - grilled chicken wings @ rm5 per stick

it was quite a pricey meal as counted by sticks.. you have to prepare at least rm50 in order to fill your stomach and taste the variety.. and beware of the long awaiting yakitori turn as the chef patiently grills the pieces on skewers one after another.. you can rest assured of the food quality as they are grilled to perfection.. especially the chicken wings.. they are the best yakitori wings that the biscuit found in kl.. if you ever find a good yakitori joint.. just go for the shio (salt) instead of tare (teriyaki sauce).. :)~

midori at cineleisure

the other day the biscuit and her buddies agreed to watch a korean movie at the curve cineleisure.. the show was at 9.40pm and we forgot our dinner as there were too many interesting shops in the cineleisure which greatly distracted our attention.. :D

by the time we finished shopping its almost 9.30pm and almost starving to death too hoho..we found this midori at level 1 cineleisure.. we only had 1o minutes left but while staring at the menu.. omg so many nice desserts!! T_T

i ordered the simple chicken wings bento set as i believed it took the shortest time to prepare.. it was delicious!! and the bento set is around rm10.90 0nly.. next time i would like to try their desserts.. looks yummy from the menu.. it must be their specialty as the shop name is midori japanese ice green.. perhaps their green tea ice cream? :)~

thats what delaying our dinner.. we managed to find our friendship rings.. it was love at first sight.. and only one knew what happened to my ring at the end of the night.. what a comedy ending with much giggles.. so remember to keep it to yourself ya.. hohoho.. :D

avanti is a mixed italian-american restaurant and wine bar located at sunway lagoon resort hotel.. you can easily spot datuks or datins around.. or even a young datuk.. :D

i guess thats the only fine dining restaurant where you are allowed to scribble on the table! yes crayons are provided.. hoho.. a great piece of artwork was artistically created by the few of us..

i wanted to draw a hello kitty.. but only knew how to draw a doraemon.. hoho.. happy birthday fanny! thanks for being a great friend! muak.. :)

captain biscuit picked the chicken set.. the complete meal is only rm19.90 inclusive of a cream soup and a mocktail soda.. it is quite a bargain since the drink is free during the promotion period.. and most importantly the pirate staffs are friendly.. :D

during the labour day holiday i went for a food trip in penang..

we stayed at gurney hotel so most of the time we walked along the gurney drive.. our first morning breakfast was at this carnation bak kut teh.. choi lan also said a must-eat.. hoho.. this bak kut teh place is so interesting as night time it will transform into a restaurant with night club kinda singer on stage singing chinese oldie songs.. everytime we walked pass and noticed there were old uncles sitting aside the gurney opposite the restaurant and listening to their songs..

back to my bak kut teh.. i asked for g-giok.. and they really gave me a whole lot of them.. hoho.. it was nice.. :)~

and they recommended us the yam rice.. but i still prefer the white rice with bak kut teh..

the next bak kut teh we tried was at the next door zealand bak kut teh.. the business hour is from early morning until 2.30pm.. after that it becomes a seafood restaurant till night..

their bak kut teh pot came with mushroom, pork balls and beancurd.. and the soup is pepper based.. i prefer the carnation bak kut teh.. perhaps g giok? hohoho..

hoho.. i also tried the mXtucky fried chicken.. a long queue at the stall.. mostly youngsters..

this is the char kuey teow extra with more prawns.. i cant recall the exact price.. but 2 plates cost rm13 or rm15.. pricey huh for a hawker food..

then i read from the star of a place for snow beer.. it was at church street cafe in penang.. we took a map and roamed around the street and we found it.. hoho.. it was actually a pub with live band at night..

it was so cool to have an ice beer after a long sunny walk at fort cornwallis!! and the satisfaction for hunting the place.. :D

after the snow beer we walked over to saint george church.. the first anglican church in south east asia still as beautiful as ever.. i dunno why as at that moment psalm 23 flashed in my mind.. The Lord is my Shephard i shall not want.. He makes me lie down in green pastures.. He leads me beside quiet waters.. so beautiful.. :)

there are quite alot of nice english street names in penang.. like the king street..

and i love this.. the love lane.. hoho.. as from here we walked back to gurney drive.. what a walking experience to remember.. :)

fish head meehoon soup vs seafood tomyam

hoho.. i had a simple yet good lunch again.. this time was at one of the stalls in jalan alor..

choi kee aka gou lou (tall guy) famous fish head meehoon soup at jalan alor.. it opens from 7am until 4pm only..

the lou ban will ask whether you prefer thick or thin meehoon.. apparently most of the patrons prefer the thick one (as thick as lou su fan).. the fish head was so fresh and sweet until it perfectly paired with the rich milky soup.. i asked for extra fish paste too which seems credited as well.. :)~

besides the fish head meehoon.. they do sell seafood tomyam.. i will try it one day.. as i will walk extra miles for a good food.. hoho.. :)~

ehh.. a week later i went again for a second try.. this time i ordered the ice cendol and it came in a glass.. not a bad choice in a sunny day! hoho.. i have marked it as my must-ordered drink in that shop.. :D

i was quite reluctant to forsake my favourite fish head meehoon and tried out the seafood tomyam lehhhh.. in fact i was disappointed with the seafood portion as i was expecting some fish slices or more prawns.. the bowl came out with more squids and cuttlefishes which i wasnt that fancied about.. and the taste of the tomyam reminded me of the instant noodle pack..

yesss.. the nissin tomyam goong instant noodle.. hoho.. 90% bingo! the only difference is rm1.90 per pack vs rm6.00 per bowl.. :p

so from now on i will just stick to my fish head meehoon soup + cendol drink.. hoho..

char siew vs siew yuk

eh.. anyone knows where to find good char siew and siew yuk in town? i heard of 2 great places but didnt have the chance to try until i changed job and broke the 1 hour golden lunch rule.. hoho.. my new colleagues are good in cari makan too.. i was soooooo glad that my colleagues brought me here and there for the first time.. :)~

meng kee char siew at jalan tong shin.. besides char siew they are also selling 滑溜溜 steamed chicken..

the char siew is super expensive!!! 3 of us paid rm17 each for the char siew lunch!! omg.. anyway the next day i brought my other colleagues for the same char siew again.. hoho.. make sure you dont wear heavy long sleeve as the stall lack of air ventilation.. i almost chocked while eating.. hoho.. the honey roasted char siew is really good that it can be makan with rice without sauce.. see.. i love the fat fat.. hohoho.. :)~

the following week my colleagues brought me to this wong mei kee at jalan pudu for lunch.. it was so packed and a long Q was lining up at the stall for siew yuk order..

this half roasted chicken cost rm22!! but i like the salty skin.. and imagine someone can actually fork out rm60 for a 菜园鸡!! (choi yuen gai in english? anyone please? ) o_O how many set of kfc meal you can order with that amount ya.. :D

and this little plate of siew yuk cost rm36!!! o_O ohh really overpriced.. but i have no regret and dont mind going back again for the juicy meat.. and the roasted pork 新鲜出炉 at every 12.30 noon..

the biscuit wonders if they owned a salt factory.. as every single seafood dish was blended with extra salt! and the biscuit noticed each seafood dish came in a small portion.. but a big portion for the fried rice and the steamed eggs.. hoho.. so that is the buffet trick! :p the biscuit and buddies spent their sinfully 3 hours ordered repeatedly and makan nonstop until they rose their white flags.. remember the sharks fins, scallops and crabs can be ordered once only.. the hugh restaurant hall was packed with seafood connoisseurs.. so please make a reservation to avoid disappointment.. and be fast ya!!!! as the promotion will end soon.. 300407!

the other day my sister flipped through a dunno what magazine and read about this shanghai 10 (shanghai tian) at sungaiwang.. it seems like another new place for xiaolungbao.. it was a weekend but surprisingly not many people there.. perhaps one of the factor is the location wise since it is located at the 4th floor at the back of the shoplots.. many people might miss out the place in sungai wang..

personally i like the egg fried rice and the ice herbal jelly mango shake.. as for the xiaolungbao.. i think they can be improved.. guess the master chef loong was not in town.. :D

traders hotel is a new hotel located at the kl convention centre and klcc..

i checked from the website and it seems like the hotel is under the shangrila group..

we are going to explore the new skybar at the 33rd floor of the traders hotel.. the concept is quite similar to the luna bar at pan global which is also located at the top floor of the building overwhelming the kl city area..

the view is just splendid.. you can oversee the most of the kl city as well as the kl tower.. the best hour to be there is before the sunset so you can experience the day turning to night view.. :D

it is an open rooftop which gives alot of air .. the only setback is we have to move to the limited sheltered area when it starts raining just like we encountered in the night later..

besides the big pool.. there are jacuzzis too.. but who dares to jacu when people peeping around.. :D

here's the view of the klcc park from the skybar.. so far i havent walked in the park yet except the fountain area and i heard some actually jog around the park for some fresh air in kl? :O

the marvelous view of the twin towers from the skybar.. i didnt zoom it and thats the closeness of the buildings from the skybar!

hoho this round no food pics.. only some peanuts and wasabi peas.. sadly the skybar doesnt serve much choices of food (like pizza or pasta) but only some snacks and light foods.. the biscuit kinda likes its fried calamaris and its delicious! as usual i ordered their house wine.. and you can try their mojito cocktail or the kiwi fruit cocktail.. both are popular drinks in the skybar i heard..

if you like luna bar.. u will love skybar.. definitely.. :)

patong beach - phuket

eh.. this is the long delayed part 3 of my phuket trip.. the patong beach and the wild nighty life of the bangla road.. :D

there is a long stretch of seafood 'hawker centre' with pretty bargainable price along the side junction of the bangla road.. and i picked the yoyo among the rest because i like the name.. it was name after the lady owner's little daughter.. :) which i didnt regret of dining there at all.. the food was great!!

ohhhh... look at the fragrance rice owned by the thais.. :D

i was hooked by the tomyam gung and see how generous of the prawns serving!! i think it cost around rm10 only.. hoho..

yess.. i ordered the same fish with the sour plum sauce.. :)~

and some grilled prawns.. eh.. i am not really a prawn eater.. but what the heck just go aheadddd.. hoho..

and i bought a nice silver bracelet from that lady.. rm10 only.. hoho..

the boxing match is one of the major attraction in phuket.. but i dont enjoy boxing except the boxing day after the christmas.. hoho..

this is the infamous notti bangla road.. such a terror scene.. dozens of young or not so young and pretty or not so pretty yet extremely sexy gals were lining up in the street awaiting for their potential one night standers.. :O

that night was super crowded especially at this particular pub..

they were celebrating some anniversary with free flow of bbq meat to be given away to everyone.. yes even to those passerbys.. this is phuket!!! so friendly and down to earth!!

okok back to the drinks.. here's the price list.. imagine a tiger beer cost only rm8 in a bar.. cheap kan? but i was unable to spot my friend's favourite guinness.. :O

among all the pubs in the wild bangla road.. this is the most happening one.. with plenty of teenage gals wearing some miniskirt school uniforms (like those in the japanese comics) whom seducingly dancing on the bar table above the angmohs.. and the hamsap angmohs kept on staring at their panties.. :O

hrm.. even the bar toilet sign is trying to hint on something which might happen next.. extra toilet service for 5baht only.. hoho.. fainted..

okok if you are not interested in the miniskirt teenage gals.. how about some aguas? hohohoho.. nose bleeding.. yes you lengjai i mean you.. :D

or you can have some agogos to suit your beautiful taste.. more nose bleeding.. hoho.. phuket is definitely a door to heaven for some guys.. :p

ehh.. i think i saw an angel while i was on my way back to kl.. *hallelujah* lets babaii to the sinful phuket.. hohoho..

but i really dont mind revisiting again in the near future.. :)

eh.. everyone still remember the tsunami attack during the boxing day in 2004? *while everyone was still in the long christmas holiday mood and then suddenly it turned from joy into misery*

today these warning signs can be found everywhere near the beaches..

lets pray the earthquake wont surface anymore.. *not another disaster*

a weeping phuket in 261204.. dvds and books with tragic pictures are sold for remembrance.. :(

ok the bad 2004 was over.. a truely sawadeekap smile from uncle mac and his sunny phuket people again.. :D

i have heard of the samurai pork burger and finally got the chance to bite on it..

hrm.. not as special as i thought.. just a normal burger only.. perhaps my tastebud was not functioning well for a heartful burger in the early morning.. yes the phuket mcdonalds is opened 24 hours..

but then the suntanned gal with the see thru pantie was more appetising.. hoho.. *whistle*

outside the mcdonalds parked with a line of tuk tuks.. a nice tuk tuk photo with a no parking sign.. hoho..

this is interesting.. while on the way to the hotel from the airport.. i spotted a rare colourful carplate with a beach scene.. the others are just plain normal carplates.. the owner must be a somebody in the island.. :O

tattoos are everywhere.. boys and gals.. young and old.. o_O

hoho so thats the reason behind.. there are so many tattoo shops around.. *isit a trend in phuket? i really spotted alot of people with tattoos in the island.. some with ugly patches and some with really nice artistic one* :O

eh.. thai words are pretty interesting.. just like this one i found with my always imaginative mind.. arent they looked like a few heads sitting at the toilet or some playing taichi.. hoho..

a tomyam goong cost only rm5.. 10 bahts to rm1.. cheap ahhh..

seeeeee.. even a beer in a pub at patong beach cost only rm5!!!!

so dirt cheap until there is a drunken people crossing road sign in the street.. hohoho..

arhhh.. surely a drinking heaven.. a bottle of chivas cost only rm100 at the local 7-11 convenient store.. hoho.. and a bucket of ice cost only rm5 for a room service.. ohhh.. i love phuket so much.. :D

ahh holiday mood again.. but a short and an affordable one.. hoho..

i booked the airasia to phuket during the promotional period which cost only rm29.90 one way before airport tax.. after i bought the airticket online only then i realised it was the 2nd day of the peak season when i arrived.. which means all hotel prices would be doubled up or more while i was visiting phuket.. puiiii.. just 2 days differences only.. lesson i have learnt: check the room rate before any flight booking.. -_-"

i read through quite a number of reviews for the phuket fantasea online and most of them were negative feedback.. so i decided to skip the show and it was quite pricey anyway.. :(

i was so excited and after spending much time doing research online for the hotel booking.. i fell in love with the sugar palm resort at kata beach.. i made up my mind and decided to spend a relaxing getaway there.. :)

there is a colour theme in each room and thank god i occupied a purple room.. hoho.. even the bathroom was purple too.. :D

what is so special of the room? the answer: the pool is accessible straight from it's own balcony!!

imagine you can jump into the pool whenever you feel like from your own room.. hoho.. how cool isnt it.. and there is a jacuzzi corner at the pool too..

and you can swim through the spa centre or even get a sauna or steam whenever after swimming..

luckily it was still at the early stage of the peak season.. which i enjoyed very much of the quietness in the hotel..

i had a delicious dinner for the night.. the sour plum fish.. the pineapple fried rice.. the green curry chicken and the asparagus.. and not forget the signature thai coconut drink too.. hoho..

i will upload more photos when i am free.. my 1st ever trip in phuket.. :)

a few days ago me and my friend were planning to have dinner at sunway.. but we missed the exit at sunway and headed to a toll.. and finally we ended up at puchong hoho.. i seldom makan at puchong so we roamed around and peekaboo a place for dinner.. we roamed 2 rounds and noticed many restaurants along the way and then we saw a place with many people queuing outside the restaurant.. so packed meh.. o_O

what the heck so we kiasuly joined the crowd too hoho.. this shop was just opened recently.. gao ren guan aka tall people store (the biscuit translation hoho) at bandar puchong jaya..

it was so packed that we had to wait for awhile and seated at one of the tables outside..

the restaurant strongly highlighted their 4 house specialities.. 1beancurd.. 2bittergourd.. 3kao nyuk 扣肉.. 4chicken.. even their 4 house specialties are illustrated at their 2 side walls with cooking methods.. there are 90 over side dishes to choose from the menu.. and i overheard the waiter greeted 2 patrons next to my table ' 又是你们啊!' (yao hai nei dai ah?).. hoho.. it seems funny to hear that since they just opened not long ago.. since only 2 of us this time.. we could only order 3 out of the 4 house specialties.. aiks.. the chicken is half a piece ok.. -_-"

something to sooth the throat.. the sea coconut or chrysanthemum tea with ginseng.. slurp..

the first dish came with the stuffed beancurd..

it was stuffed with preserved vegies 梅菜 and pork meat.. rm2 per ball..

then the stuffed bittergourd.. it looks wrinkly ugly ya.. hoho..

guess they stuffed the same fillings with the beancurd.. but i like bittergourd.. the bitter the better hoho.. rm3 each..

and the last house specialty is the salted chicken with ginger dipping sauce.. the smallest dish is half a chicken portion at rm20.. i am the chicken teeth so i cant help from getting this into my stomach hoho.. omg.. we have to finish the plate by just the 2 of us.. and they have marinated the chicken with shao xing wine 绍兴酒 and some salt for 48 hours according to the cooking method from the wall above me.. in fact the beancurd and the bittergourd are also soaked with shao xing wine.. so ended up the taste of the 3 dishes are quite identical..

gao ren guan is a place for simple and hakka alike home cooked food.. sometimes 平平淡淡是幸福.. hoho.. i think they are still undergoing some newly opened promotion.. you can get a discount card once you dine in.. i will definitely like to try their other dishes again and perhaps their 扣肉.. which i missed out this time.. or if i miss the sunway exit again.. hoho..

we are the 3 occasionally musketeers.. this should have been posted like a month ago.. it was the 2 younger musketeers' september birthday treat by the older musketeer.. hoho.. :X

one thursday night.. musketeer the senior (hohoho oppss) brought us to this jarrod and rawlins at damansara heights.. the bungalow gourmet is much different from their first outlet in sri hartamas.. over here you can choose to dine and wine at their open garden.. it must be fun to have a group of friends drinking wine and merrier together under the stars hoho.. thats for the laid back jollies and beware of the mosquitoes though .. *piak* and at the upper floor there are some people drinking at the oak wooden wine barrel tables.. catered for a much younger drinking atmosphere..

whereas in the middle of the bungalow is their fine restaurant.. many tables but only 3 occupied in that night.. i believe most people preferred the upper barrel floor or the garden seats below..

the quiet ambience is too perfect for couples.. hoho.. perhaps for the pair's name started with J and R can strike for a discount.. :p

actually i was not really flattered by their main course.. it surely looks nice but the almost waiting for an hour slow food on table really spoilt my appetite.. this is the fish for musketeer the senior..

and the chicken for musketeer the junior..

and the pork for the biscuit musketeer.. :D

as compared with the expensive meal above.. i was much enchanted with their dynamite sausage.. it was superb!!!! very spicy hot and there must be lots of chilipadi inside.. sssssssssssssssh *hot* knowing that one of the partner owned a sausage factory in shah alam.. that hottie must be one of his recipe.. hoho.. ssssssssssssssssssh.. *drool*

sausage and wine.. what a good companion for the night.. next time i must try their bacon and ham too.. bear in mind that outside food is not allowed into the fine restaurant.. yes the sausage which sells in their own deli is considered as an *outside* food.. -_-" but that night we managed to persuade the floor manager to let the sausage in.. hoho.. so arigato to our musketeer the senior.. next time we buy you wine and bacon at the barrel.. :)

shanghai trip part 2 - hangzhou

hanzhou is a beautiful city with natural assets and it is also the capital of zhejiang province.. there is an old chinese saying: 上有天堂下有苏州杭州.. i would love to visit suzhou one day.. :)

the west lake is a must go place in hangzhou.. we took a boat ride in the lake and praising for its overwhelming beauty.. imagine i had always seen these scenes in chinese drama or movie and now i could experience it for real.. *感动* i love the sight of the swinging trees and the lotus leaves.. it was a hot day with 30 degree celcius or more.. luckily i had a handy electrical fan with me which attracted envious sights from others.. :p

there were thousands of lotus flower blossomed at the lakeside (like the above picture).. this is one of my favourite pictures captured.. the beauty of nature hoho.. i guess there must be alot of painters getting inspiration from this 写生 scene..

during the boat ride.. i saw this six harmonies pagoda from afar.. the legend of the white snake 白蛇传 happened in the west lake too.. the white snake transformed into a human form and fell in love at first sight with a man in the west lake.. they married and the story went on until one day she was captured by a monk and was imprisoned inside the thunder pagoda.. the story ended with a happy ending and so the west lake became a love spot for some lovebirds hoho..

the electrical bicycle.. hrm.. i guess we shouldnt name china as an outdated country anymore.. so advance ya hoho..

during the night we went for a feast at a hangzhou restaurant called mountain beyond mountain 山外山.. what a name.. but the place really crowded 人外人.. hoho.. p/s: that particular wrapping duck dish was so stink that no one dare to touch the meat! i volunteered to take the first bite.. it tasted ok but the longkang smell.. YUCKKKKKKKKKKKKS.. almost fainted.. @_@

woohoo.. their signature dish.. the dongpo meat was really mouthwatering!! hoho.. the fat skin was about 3cm thick leh.. :)~ according to the tour guide.. hangzhou produced many slim and pretty girls whereas they all cant live without the dongpo meat.. what is the theory behind the fat meat and the slim girls then? the fatter the slimmer? speechless.. but i like.. hoho..

besides the west lake.. another must visit place in hangzhou is their longjing tea farmhouse.. the famous longjing 龙井 aka dragon well greentea is originated from hangzhou.. nice huh the dragon tail.. :p

i was not into the chinese tea culture and the trip really opened my eyes.. i learnt that while sipping the hot longjing tea.. we could SWALLOW (eat) the leaves too.. which i think i might not try prior to the visit.. o_O

hoho.. i never expected the hotel that i stayed in hangzhou was so modernised.. besides able to tune into the local chinese channels of the whole mainland china.. they have preset the inhouse movie programs according to the name of actor/actress.. if i clicked on stephen chow.. a WHOLE list of his movies were shown for selection.. i spent more than 30 minutes to figure out how to function with the complicated tv remote control! i was really the 大乡李出城 hoho..

another thing i love about china is their fresh milk and their yogurt! 无得鼎！:)~

shanghai part I

during the merdeka eve while everyone was in a high spirit for merdeka count down.. the biscuit was in the airport counting down for her 5 days journey in shanghai.. yes its our company trip again hoho.. during the trip i took almost 500 photos of the things around me.. i dont think i can post most of them here but i will try to summarise the most interesting parts.. :D

we started off from shanghai.. then hangzhou (famous for its west lake).. then wuzhen (the ancient town aka water village) and back to shanghai again.. i had international roaming but kinda o_O by the rm2 (about) per sms back to malaysia..

we reached shanghai early in the morning around 7am.. we asked our tour guide to lead us for some local breakfast and we found this soya bean place.. i tried out their local salty soya bean (some sort like a congee) but couldnt get along with the funny salty taste.. eeeeesh.. i stopped after a few scoops.. :/

my set meal was costed only rmb5.. so cheap as in rm2.50.. :O

i was eager to visit the jin mao tower.. the tallest hotel in the world.. the grand hyatt shanghai is here.. i know the cloud 9 lounge is located on the highest floor.. hmph.. too bad this trip was too rush for sightseeing tour and not much time for own leisure.. next time i would rather take the free and easy and roam around by my own.. :(

being a coca cola can/bottle collector.. i was stunned at this few storey tall giant bottle at one of the building in nanjing road.. a shopping district in shanghai.. :)

hoho.. a quick snap.. this is the fashion sense in shanghai.. :p

yess.. from the day one until the day we left china.. we were fully bloated with the feast during lunch and dinner.. and people of china loves pork!!!!!! omg.. what a pork heaven.. :p

among the few cold dishes which were being served each day.. this is what i love.. :)~

and the pork shank.. :)~ hrm.. i will post one of my favourite dongpo pork which i tasted at hangzhou for the next post.. what a pork feast ya.. hoho..

the next pork.. the xiao long bao.. hoho.. how could we miss the shanghai signature dish.. hrm.. i found the taste was nothing special as compared with those we found in kl..

the peace hotel is located at the bund.. it is famous for its old jazz bar.. heard that the jazz band is performed by a few of 70+ years old musicians.. aii.. hope that i have a chance to visit the place one day with my loved one for a soft jazz candlelight.. hoho..

hokkaido scallops

on friday night i went to isetan klcc and saw the hokkaido fair which ended today..

some boiled and ready big scallops were on sale.. delicious!! no need cooking just eat.. hoho.. :)~

i asked if i could buy a few just for some biscuit bud tasting but the promoter said the minimum purchase was rm20.. o_O i was actually quite reluctant but staring at the big fat scallops i surrendered and said ok.. who knows that big fat promoter got me rm25.20! -_-"

hrm.. thats rm2.10 each as i counted the pieces.. *_* an expensive junk food for the day but it tasted really good.. firm and natural sweetness from the sea.. :)~

home sweet home

the biscuit has been silent for awhile and went back to the land below the wind for a makan break.. hoho.. home sweet home..

the minute just after i touched down at the airport.. i was brought to the tanjung aru beach.. not a fancy cocktail.. just a 吉仔冰and facing the sea.. how cool could it be.. hoho..

together with seafood meehoon soup.. a bowl of rm6 with 4 pieces of big fresh prawns, 2 big fish slices and many more.. this is sabah the seafood paradise! :)~

the next day i went to penampang for 冬菇鸡脚..

together with my old time favourite 客家炸肉河粉..they are still the same as in 20 over years ago.. hoho..

besides 鱼片.. 鱼滑 is another favourite food in sabah.. it is so silky smooth that can be easily swallowed into your stomach without chewing hoho..

this is another food that i must makan whenever i am home.. the 苦瓜牛肉 in beanpaste.. i just cant find the similar taste in kl.. :)~

of course i will not forget my healthy greens.. in a beauford mee style.. :)~

on a beautiful sunday morning.. i worship my God here with my family.. bob fitts is coming here again very soon for praise and worship.. stay tune..

after the service i had my lunch nearby in damai for my favourite 咸菜汤鱼片米粉.. :)~

this home-made chili paste goes well with the fish slice.. :)~

in the evening i went to fohsang and dabao this 猪杂~猪耳猪舌猪肠 whatsoever.. the small stall has been here for years and it is still opened only in the late afternoon..

the next day i went to wisma merdeka for this 鱼头米粉.. yes in 咸菜豆腐汤 again hoho.. :)~

the toot toot train sushi bar in palm square..

this is the only japanese meal that fancies me back home.. the nizakana set..

or the saba fish.. i tried to find it in kl but failed.. :( the fresh fish costs only rm14 per set! :)~

good timing when i was back.. *joy* my aunty brought these cakes from sandakan.. i was so glad that i manage to bite on this 牛屎堆 or so-called cow shitty once again hoho.. my childhood cake which i grew up with.. it was originated and so popular in sandakan back then.. those days these yummy yummy creamy butter cheese cakes were wrapped in ciggie boxes which a long box could fit in 5 pieces only.. and the fragile pieces could easily smash to each other if not carry with extra care..

this is the original version or size and now can be found in some bread shops in kk.. it is so tempting that you can makan a few pieces in one round.. fattening too hoho.. :)~

ahhh.. there are many good food that i missed out during this trip.. like the tomyam seafood meehoon in hilltop.. tuaran mee in tuaran.. seafood laksa mee in gaya street.. grilled honey chicken wing @rm1.20 in damai.. claypot mushroom chicken in sugarbun and many more.. time is limited.. :( anyway those above are the food that i will not miss whenever i balik kampung.. awaiting for the next trip for more makan.. :)~

wahh.. what has this world come to.. now the durian stall also has a website.. hoho..

each time i passed by this durian stall at ss2.. their dot com always drew my attention..

what a service.. buy a durian and get a free flow of mineral water with disposable plastic cups.. very the hygienic one.. hoho..

we ordered 3 durians and it costs rm100.. around rm18 per kg.. d26 leh!!!!!!

ohlala.. especially this raja kunyit.. from the durian website it was defined as a special fragrance durian with smooth flesh and flat seed.. a taste of bitter sweet.. so-called the best of the best among the king of fruits.. :O

beside durians.. they sell big and juicy something like rambutan but not quite a rambutan.. hoho.. too bad the mangosteens are out of sight..

now you can dial a durian.. hoho.. honestly i was really amused by its dot com.. :p

bak kut teh at bukit jelutong

another good bak kut teh place recommended by my pretty mama japanese colleague some time back.. and that was my 3rd visit since a year ago.. glad that the shop was still here.. :)

subang teow chew claypot bak ku teh is located at bukit jelutong.. it is just right opposite the esso station along the main road heading to sungai buloh..

heard that it used to be some kind of workshop built in a simple wooden form and later transformed into a great place for bak kut teh.. we reached there about 1pm and it was fully packed and we had to sit in a shared table..

the rich flavour of the thick bak kut teh made me ohlala and the big big slice of meat rocks.. :)~

bak kut teh + rice + garlic + soya sauce = a complete meal for the biscuit.. hoho..

after my yum yum bak kut teh.. i had the other specialty.. the herbal jelly 龟苓膏 and it costs only rm2! besides bak kut teh.. they also serve some chinese dishes like the assam fish and etc..

the biscuit is content when there is a bak kut teh.. and thats the bak kut teh for the week.. hoho.. till then.. :)

tilapia fish in rawang

one day i told my colleague that i like steamed fish and he brought me to this makan place which was out from kl town..

kedai makanan lan jie 兰姐 in rawang is famous for its steamed tilapia fish aka 清蒸非洲鱼.. it is located at the roadside along the main road heading to the rawang town..

it was a hot sunny day but luckily they installed these coolers..

altenatively you could have a coconut drink for chilling out.. hoho..

something not to be missed.. yes the garlic and the chili.. eh.. miss my bak kut teh again.. :)~

while waiting for the steamed fish.. we had some seafood tofu with rice.. the prawns were quite big but only with 2 or 3 pieces found.. hoho..

eh.. the steamed tilapia fish was really good.. i could eat the whole fish alone with 2 bowls of rice leh.. just imagine the soya sauce hoho.. heard that they raised the fishes and cooked them freshly.. and yes the place is always packed during lunch time.. thats why we were so kiasu and reached there by 12pm.. 早d去霸位啦.. :)~

bou yat bou herbal soup

the other day i was suggesting to my makan kaki to try out another soup specialty shop besides the usual soup stall that we frequent in seapark..

restaurant friendship herbal soup or bou yat bou in cantonese.. it is located at chow yang ss2 and was recommended by doris in the comment box.. and the world was so small that we actually bumped into each other coincidentally in that same place.. hoho.. when we reached there around 7.30pm.. it was so packed until we had to sit at the big round table (just the two of us!) at the back near to the kitchen and aherm the wc.. -_-"

while i was staring at the menu.. i still didnt notice doris was here until she walked over and said hi to me.. chit chat chit chat blah blah blah and then she recommended me the herbal soup in a steaming hot coconut shell.. ya i tried it but found it a bit too sweet during the first few attempts.. until my tongue had gotten used with the sweetness and it was actually tasted good.. eh.. i wonder if they boiled the soup with the coconut water.. :O

my friend craved for tofu so we ordered their home specialty tofu with mince pork.. i didnt consume much of this because i was awaiting for my star food of the night.. it was highly recommended by doris too.. deng deng deng deng..

its the pork knuckle!!! hohoho.. besides the usual german version and lets see how they make it in a chinese way.. eh.. it was quite an expensive dish for rm23 but i was immediately hooked! besides the crispy skin.. the whole thing was well marinated too.. yum yum! and i was happily digging for the gelatin and the crunch crunch skin.. whereas i pushed the meat to my friend.. hoho..

but i guess the whole knuckle was just too much for the two of us! and i hope this pic (pig) doesnt gross you out.. it does look like something right.. yikes.. :p

luna bar and pizza.. go italia!!!

the luna photos have been taken quite some time ago.. and the worldcup season is coming to an end soon.. since my brazil is out (boo!).. the next team i am gonna suport is the pizzalia aka italia!!! and its going to the final.. woohoo!!

the blue shirts! italia! the blue sky! italia!! oh my.. to me now everything in blue resembles italia.. :D

i have to find a blue theme to support my italia ah.. hoho.. the only place which come into my mind is the luna bar at the top 34th floor pan global.. what a magnificent view overseeing the blue ya.. italia!! :D

yes the aqua blue swimming pool.. and the blue sky turning into dark.. italia!! :D

the light blue bar.. italia!! hoho.. it is a great place for a chillout with a few good friends.. :)

and how can i miss out the pizza from pizzaland.. italia!!

and more pizza.. italia!! hohoho.. this specialty pizza from luna bar is very cheesy look yet cheesy taste.. :)~

it is actually quite relaxing to doze an evening here in luna bar.. especially when you are meditating.. you can just stare at the stilled water for hours.. okok.. back to the worldcup fever.. pizzahut is having a footie promotion express lunch which benefit us the 1 hour no extra time poor workers!

the express lunch guaranteed a 15 minutes food on table.. if not a penalty kick of rm5 rabate on the next visit.. hoho..

it is so valued for money! only rm7.90 for a set of pan pizza meal! soup + bread + pizza + drink! :O

edo jo part 2

hoho.. once upon a time we stumbled upon the edo jo in hartamas.. and once upon a few days later we revisited again.. :D

i bent down my biscuit head and walked through the entrance..

greeted by a warm irashaimasu.. the waitress recognised us and led us the way.. hoho.. we sitted on the same table facing the one and only tatami room in the house..

eh.. unlike the other day.. besides the main menu.. the waitress handed us a few copies of handwritten menu for today's special in japanese.. so far the 2 days i saw quite a number of japanese dining around me.. the japanese's new makan paradise ka.. i even saw a japanese reading japanese comics while eating.. hoho..

they served a very fresh moriawase sashimi (assorted).. :)~

yakitori (japanese satay hoho..) is a must try if you fancy japanese food.. besides kawa (chicken skin).. i like sunagimo (chicken gizzard) too and edo jo does grill a very good yakitori.. :)~

this is hiyayakko.. the japanese tofu served with ice cube.. the tofu was very soft until it tore and melted into the ice.. eeee.. it should have been served separately ya.. -_-"

my friend ordered the zaru soba.. the chilled noodle was served on a bamboo tray.. dip the noodle into the cold dipping sauce and eat slurpingly.. hoho.. it is a nice dish especially during a hot weather.. *sweat*

as for the biscuit.. how could she miss out her favourite saba shioyaki la.. hoho..

i tell you.. i really love their japanese rice! see the shining pearls? it is sooooooooooooo nice! i will definitely go back again and again and again.. hoho.. :)

correct me if i am wrong.. tokyo was once known as edo 江户.. now we have an edo jo in hartamas too.. hoho..

edo jo japanese restaurant is located at the back row of the maybank beside the bomba hartamas..

jo is castle in japanese.. centuries ago japan was divided into many provinces and each was ruled by a different shogun or warlord.. those days edo jo was once the center of japan which was ruled by a powerful shogun called tokugawa and since then the one nation dictatorship passed down to 15 generations.. *the biscuit spent time and studied here and there abit from the internet source hoho*

lets dismiss from the history class.. ding ding! and its makan time hoho.. not many people that i know are into natto because of its funny taste and stickiness.. but if you are into natto.. then you must try this okura natto which come with ladyfingers.. mix it before eating..

see how gluey is the fermented soy beans? eeeeee.. just cover your nose and eat lo.. its good for health anyway hohoho.. sniff..

this is the plum onigiri.. very appetising and filling at the same time.. burp..

my friend ordered this soup rice in japanese version.. known as the sake cha zuke.. its green tea rice topped with salmon bits.. tasted really good and easily could finish it with just a few scoops.. hoho.. the portion is small but a healthy selection.. and its a small bowl only.. T_T

and finally my katsu don!! it fitted well for the glutton since they served generous portion of japanese rice topped with deep fried pork cutlet.. omelette and onions.. yum yum..

lets zoooooooooooom into the meat.. ohhhhhh so juicy and chewable ya.. never forget to sprinkle on some chilli pepper ah.. :)~

hrm.. a very big portion of white rice underneath (imagine its double or trible the normal portion of a bowl serving ok!).. the biscuit was only able to finish 50% but greedily sapu all the meat and the miso soup.. hoho..

a reader klang has recommended me of some nice bak kut teh shops in klang.. (thanks klang!) i love bak kut teh so much that i must savour it every week.. too frequent makan until i should change my blogger name to julie the bkt.. hohoho.. but its rather difficult to travel down to klang for bak kut teh every week.. :( so to kill my crave.. i started my venturing around pj for some nice bak kut teh slurps until i found my best bak kut teh hunt that i frequent it on most sundays now.. :)~

my no.1 top bak kut teh list in pj.. the ah sang bak kut teh!! it is located near to the indian temple in sungaiway.. it was introduced by a friend from klang a year ago.. he claimed the bak kut teh here is far more better than most bak kut teh shops in klang! :D

the business hour is from 7am till 2pm only.. once i reached there at 1pm+.. most meats were sold out and nothing much to choose except the bones.. :(

the thick brown soup is very rich with herbal taste.. yum yum! but after an hour later you will start looking for water to quench the thirst from msg.. :p

eh.. i always ask for gam jam gu and g giok.. and extra garlics to dip.. :)~

ah sang is only opened in day time.. in case i am craving for bak kut teh at night.. i will go for the wee sang kee at ss2/66..

it was run by an old lady.. few times i went there only saw her making the bak kut teh alone.. if you are not too choosy it can be a good bak kut teh meal and a credit for its tender meat..

wee sang kee has brown oily rice too.. personally i prefer the plain white rice to go along with the soup.. arghhhhhhhhh the white rice + bak kut teh soup!! :)~

yo.. last minute planning for a gals night out for dinner + dessert time for tonight but ended up only myself and one of my good friend were able to make it.. i know i know sometimes it just doesnt work for a last minute plan.. -_-"

we started emailing each other early in the morning to plan for the night out.. bakerzin came to our mind.. who knows the other gals last minute couldnt make it and ended up the 2 kakis proceeded to the one at 1utama new wing.. it has been opened quite awhile in 1u after the first joint in bangsar.. i always peeped inside and never stepped foot in.. i guess i would still prefer the flora theme here.. for the girls out there you will love it too.. :D

i started drooling by just staring at the tempting colourful menu.. for the girls only! hoho..

the roasted boneless chicken thigh in teriyaki sauce is just right for the chicken teeth.. :)

my dear friend loves clams so much that she opted for the linguini vongole.. (ehh.. apa itu vongole? italian word? clams? o_O )

at first i was wondering why there was an empty pot on the table.. i couldnt see any flower seeds..

ohh.. for the storage of clam shells.. hoho.. they almost filled up the pot.. thats how generous was the portion.. :)

i missed the heart shape from the first taste in orchard.. for a non-really-into coffee drinker like me.. argh but stillll.. i closed my eyes and ordered the latte.. please feel me with love! :(

after my chicken makan.. i went to the counter where cakes were nicely decorated.. do re mi so many to choose from.. i wanted some dark chocolate bites.. but i was hooked by this desire.. dark chocolate toppings with some white chocolate and almond nuts.. a delish cake.. oh thats the secret why the sweet cake must dilute with some bitter coffee.. i guess.. :)

as for my dear friend.. she went for the strawberry shortcake.. but i finished half of her cake.. :D i will definitely go back for the same cake again in the near future thats how nice it is..

today i wanna blog one of my best pork chop hunt in town.. hoho.. as far as i know there arent many restaurants in town which serve and specialise in piggy food (beside chinese cuisine)..

and euro deli grill restaurant is the right place for pork chop lovers!!! hoho.. the one i went is located at jalan yap kwan seng near klcc.. i heard there is also a joint in damansara uptown.. or you can buy fresh pork meat at their cold storage too.. update: d said the one at uptown has closed down.. but theres one at damansara kim..

prior to my main course.. i had some buns to kill my pork belly hunger.. hoho..

if you dont like heavy meat you can opt for their spaghetti with lots of ham.. :D

or their fish fish.. :D

but as a meat eater.. i would definitely go for their pork chop!!! it looks gross with the mushroom sauce ya.. -_-" but i could slam the table (hoho) and deli-bet on their eurodelicious pork chop.. mmmmmmm.. :)~

it is always nice to digest with some sorbet after a heavy meal.. :)

euro deli is a great place for gathering as they serve buffet too.. german sausage.. ham.. pork meat and all kind of pork related yummy yummy stuff..

油炸鬼

hrm.. the biscuit suddenly has a craving for this.. crunch crunch crunch..

ya the yao ja guai! 油炸鬼/油条.. i like to eat it plain.. crunch crunch crunch.. =)~

chinese people has a habit of adding some 油炸鬼 slice on the congee.. especially while watching the hong kong tvb drama.. the hongkies love to eat the whole piece of 油炸鬼 with plain porridge for breakfast with a feast of family on a big table.. a 天伦 moment to mark the start of a day.. :)

but i like the 油炸鬼 in here.. they offered many types but i still prefer the plain one..

it is quite common to eat 油炸鬼 with kaya spread in sabah.. i remembered those days while i was in sandakan.. i always dabao them at the batu 4 market at night and a piece with kaya cost only rm0.60! crunch crunch crunch..

arrrgh.. i really feel like eating 油炸鬼 now.. :(

hokkien mee

the other day after work i had a sudden thought to hunt for some cheap cheap new korean series in s&m plaza near petaling street (after i watched some episodes of the sweet spy).. it is a good place for bargain vcds where i can get up to 40% lesser than the normal retail price.. heard that all vcd/dvd shops will be closing down by end of this month.. :(

after some korean vcds hunting.. i walked to the nearby hawker stall for the famous hokkien mee!! the stall was located right opposite the eon bank at jalan tun cheng lock beside the petaling street.. in chinese it should read lian mei hokkien mee..

heard that the hokkien mee business has been operated for a few decades and passed down to the 3rd generation.. and this guy is still using the old traditional charcoal way of frying the hokkien mee just like his grandfather.. the 镬气 fire fiRe FIRE! =)~

ehh.. the dining area is along the dirty backland beside the stall.. i was alone and felt unsafe that night.. so i dabao and caput fast lo.. zooooooooom..

hoho.. lets see how is the dabao way in the oldie days.. the newspaper! :p

hrm.. it wasnt the best hokkien mee that i makaned so far.. i forgot to ask him to add in extra pork fat la hoho.. but just imagine after 45 mins the mee was still in a HOT stage.. thats the magic of how he fried the mee in wok and sweat in the charcoal heat! the way he cooked the mee in sweat i should makan it with appreciation.. :)~

a single portion of the hokkien mee costs rm5 but the size can actually serve 2! hrm.. next time i must drag someone along and try to makan in the spot and taste the difference ah.. hoho.. lets fire fiRe FIRE and taste the fire! :p

chinatown seng kee

it has been quite awhile since i paid my last makan mouth here.. in my memory stick i had only been here twice but i would never forget how delish was the siew yuk (roasted pork) here! god must have sent the heavenly siew yuk here in chi chong gai to feed the hungry biscuit hoho.. =)~

i hardly go to the petaling street.. the tourist highlights and the massive crowd make this chinatown over congested most of the time.. but many nice food can only be found in this chinese place.. like this well-known china town seng kee.. i would crawl untiringly (if i have 6 legs hoho) for their siew yuk mee!!! before i came here i didnt know siew yuk could blend so well with the fried garlics.. ohhhhhhhhh omphhhhh.. =)~

see the fat juicy parts.. thats my favourite!! hoho.. but why??? arghhh why the siew yuk mee is manufactured in the petaling street??? and i went there twice also kena drizzle la.. someone up there is testing my perserverance.. o_O

or are there other places for the siew yuk mee just like the above? *pity kitty eyes*

fireflies in kuala selangor

yesterday i went for a company trip with my boss and some of my colleagues.. it was sort of a family outing as some colleagues brought their young kids along too.. we catered a coach with a tour guide and the journey took around 1.5 hours from kl to kuala selangor..

it was a beautiful sunny day (thank God!).. a contrast to the past raining days..

we reached bukit melawati at 5.30pm and we were given an hour to roam around before dinner time.. :p

this place is full of monkeys!! up there.. down there.. everywhere!! o_O

i guess the monkeys has become an attraction here thats why the stall is not only selling monkey toys but balloons with horns too.. hoho.. reflecting the naughty animals huh.. :p

we hopped into a toot toot train and it brought us to the hilltop overseeing the whole kuala selangor.. we passed by a haunted museum (rumours said it was closed down due to some haunted scenes.. eeee ~~~)

theres a white lighthouse on top of the hill..

1 hour times up! the toot toot train brought us down the hill and we hopped into our coach for our next destination.. for our makan time!! hoho.. along the way i could see the kuala selangor fish village from afar..

we had dinner at the restoran firefly park in kampung bukit kelimbing.. we had to dine until the sky changed into a totally darkness for our firefly boat riding adventure.. which we set at 8pm..

we had complimentary welcome drinks before the dinner served.. the icy cooling coconut water!!! i was dehydrated and really needed it.. :D

hrm.. can i skip the food intro? the food was just so so for the picky locals like us.. i noticed a few tourists beside our table.. in search for some good seafood in kuala selangor? click here.. but you must bear with the auntie-uncle-karaoke-session in hokkien songs while makaning.. -_-"

sharkfin soup.. taste like glu and hardly seen any fins..

sizzling japanese tofu without sizzling smoke..

sweet and sour prawn.. the prawn is as small as your last finger..

the lemon chicken.. i am a chicken teeth so as long as theres chicken.. i have no complaints.. :D

the steamed fish.. which is not very fresh although in kuala selangor?! o_O

the vegies.. hrm.. looks common ya.. but it is green so i have no complaints and have a few scoops for healthiness.. :p

the bamboo clams.. seems like the onions are more than the clams.. definitely here taste alot better.. :D

the fried squid.. here also taste alot better.. :D

the soft shell crab.. here also taste alot more better.. :D

hoho.. after makan.. its almost 8pm.. all of us excitedly looking forward for our firefly boat ride.. (to solve your curiosity.. i took the photo before the dark.. :p )

here clearly stated the 30 minutes boat ride is rm10 per adult only.. and a boat can fit in 6 persons..

make sure yourself or your lover or your kids dont catch any fireflies or pick up any leaves.. it cost rm500! hoho..

it was a moonless night (cho 1 in chinese calendar).. a very good day for the firefly sightseeing.. i heard some interesting facts from our tour guide.. the male fireflies shine brighter than the females.. the brightest one will attract the most females and they begin their mating process at night for the next 10 days until they die in exhaustion! thats the life span of a firefly.. to mate and to die.. o_O

hrm.. i guess the female fireflies were more than the males on that night.. perhaps the males were all hiding in humiliation due to the GIANT in the sky (the thunderstorm lightings) :D

poon choi 盘菜

i had a makan trip with some of my colleagues the night before the public holiday.. after work we zooooooooooomed out and headed to oug for makan.. we had planned 3 weeks in advance for this poon choi 盘菜trip.. i was quite excited cos i have never tasted poon choi before.. poon choi in english can be translated as big bowl feast.. all these years my skeptical mind thought poon choi is a vegetarian feast mainly for the monks in those shaolin days.. hoho.. same like i never ever thought of buddha jump over the wall 佛跳墙 was actually a soup until i tried it here.. sorry la i am a meat person so the choi automatically shut me down.. 无肉不欢 =p

restoran ying jia seafood is located at oug.. the owner has 4 beautiful daughters and one of them is helping in the family business.. heard that besides chinese dishes they are also serving dimsum early in the morning..

one of my colleague was suffering minor cuts so she couldnt take any seafood for the time being.. poor thing.. so we compensated her with this vegie soup 上汤芫菜 as she was drooling over our poon choi.. hoho.. and i was drooling over her soup.. =p

before the poon choi came.. we thought it must be served in a huge basin for the 10 hungry gluttons.. when it reached our table.. our first reaction was 'eee boleh cukup for all of us here ka' kinda question marks.. anyway some hungry colleagues were ready to spoon them greedily but me stood up and screamed 'stopppppppppp.. let me snap a pic first!!!!' they looked at me o_O and spoon halfway in the air.. hohoho.. phewww..

hrm.. according to the sifu.. poon choi should be eaten in layer by layer form .. they are layered accordingly like prawn, mushroom, abalone, scallop, dried shrimp, pork, beancurd, duck meat, oyster, ginseng, rice noodle and etc..

aiii.. i was hoping to take picture of each layer but these gluttons stirred everything upside down!! hohoho.. T_T

one colleague thought the bowl might not be enough for all of us.. so she suggested we ordered a few more dishes.. greedy huh!!! hoho.. so here came the butter noodle 奶油面.. nice!

and the fried bamboo XXX something.. anyone can tell me what is it? i didnt consume much of this although this dish finishing fast by the gluttons.. hoho.. updated: thanks lb n foodcrazee!! its bamboo clam.. eeeeeeeeee =)

this kailan is good.. the deep fried crunchy slice green on top makes it interesting..

ha.. this is an interesting dish as well.. spicy sweet and sour pork intestine.. the intestine is not deep fried so it tasted like raw.. eee.. but my colleagues love it so much.. heard that the cook rather not serving the dish if the intestine is not fresh from the market.. good qc huh.. =)

this turned out to be my favourite dish for the night!! the deep fried pepper salted squid 椒盐鱿鱼.. yummy!!!! =)~

conclusion.. eventhough the poon choi looks small.. but it is very filling indeed.. imagine each food is layered accordingly from the bottom until the top.. we were so regret for the side dishes.. hoho.. greedy us! =p

if i ever have the chance for poon choi again.. i will try the layer by layer techniques instead of stirringggggggg kiasunessly.. -_-" must go in a group cos one bowl of poon choi cost around rm200..

great food experience though.. =)

a noodle shop was just newly opened in ss2 recently.. bouquet of flowers were welcoming us at the entrance when we went in.. hoho..

it is situated at the same row with mcdonalds.. the signboard doesnt come with any english name but if directly translated from the chinese words 皇帝面.. it is the emperor's noodle.. hoho.. so grand right.. nicely deco with ancient wallpapers inside along with wooden tables and chairs.. all the food are served in black..not the food la hoho.. i mean the plates and bowls and spoons and the chopsticks.. =p

the menu does look like a mouse pad.. for those who cant read chinese.. dont worry.. the english version is at the back.. =)

i ordered a charsiew dry noodle.. it cost only rm3.80 (no tax surcharge!) but pitifully i was only entitled for 5 slices of fat charsiew in the plate! -_-" surprisingly the emperor's noodle tasted very good! i peeped at their corner and noticed that they were selling the noodle pack too..

the charsiew noodle came with a bowl of dumpling soup.. the dumpling was wrapped in a small tiny round shape so cute.. hoho.. taste good too.. =)

but frankly speaking the serving portion is very small la.. i have to side ordered a few dishes to feel my biscuit stomach.. -_-"

this is their home-made dumplings.. at first i thought whattttt.. theres a hair in the soup?! o_O but when i looked closer its only the oil reflection la.. phew..

this supposed to be their 招牌面 (signature noodle) but i asked the waiter if i could have the round thing without the noodle.. he said yes and it came as a side order.. he said it was made from pork meat and egg.. but it tasted like some japanese tofu with a firmer texture.. hoho..

i like their fishcake.. i walloped the whole piece without the chili sauce.. hoho.. i prefer the natural taste.. =)

eh.. i wonder why has it been called an emperor's noodle ah.. was it a noodle which could only be feasted by the emperor during the ancient dynasty? o_O

curry eggplant

i hardly step out from office for lunch.. especially in a hot sunny day! imagine you are so comfy in an air-conditioned room and next you have to walk under the hot sun and look for food.. eee.. *sweat* thats why i choose to dabao most of the time.. hoho..

what a beautiful day.. the kl tower was taken in a beautiful morning.. =)

back to my lunch story.. my colleagues always lunch at the back of the concorde hotel.. there is a long stretch of mamak stalls and some selling economy rice and noodles.. i seldom (less than 5% in a year which i can count hoho..) joined them because i found that place quite unhygienic and humid.. bear in mind that all might sweat while eating in a sunny day.. o_O but one day i decided to follow them and found out a jewel in a hot place! and i chose to sit under the big umbrellas at the back of the stall.. hoho.. a nicely shadowed place.. =)

the jewel is the yong tofu stall! you can choose your own yong tofu mixed (fishcake etc)and its quite cheap for only around 50c per piece! i look around but sadly couldnt find my favourite eggplants.. aii.. anyway i chose my pieces and opted for their curry sauce which wuoaaaa.. so tasty!! with some lemon grass inside =)~ my colleagues highly recommended me of their g cheong fan too which is so silky smooth..

few days later i went back again and hoping to find my eggplants.. and yes!!! i ordered a few pieces of my eggplants and satisfied.. hoho.. if only they have taofu bok.. it must be syok to eat with their curry sauce.. =)~

ehh.. this is my longest post with the most fishy pics hoho..

starhill.. a starry place with a glorious food dining experience..

i have read quite a few reviews for this jogoya buffet restaurant in starhill.. finally its my turn to venture around.. it sounded so japanese but then it is actually a taiwanese chain.. (=

i chose a non-weekend dinner time to avoid the crowd.. i was right since i could stay there for 2 hours plus.. unlike it stated 2 hours maximum during peak hours.. jogoya's policy is pay before you dine at the entrance..

there's a pond and some crews in line to welcome you loudly before you start your makan journey..

the spacious dining area.. with some attentive and friendly waitresses around.. our table was served by two polite myanmar ladies..

there are a few counters scattered in different directions serving different food..

the small metal clip in between the fork and spoon plays an important role for the makan night.. it is the key to order some really good and freshly cook on the spot food..

each clip comes with a table number.. and three clips for each table.. we sitted on a combined table so we have 6 clips.. (=

when you spot your favourite food.. you can drop the clip on the bowl in front of the display food.. once the chef finished cooking the food it will then be delivered to your table.. senang right? hoho.. and dont worry about finishing the clips.. it will return back to you once your ordered food reach your table.. (=

the steamed whole fish!!!! it ranked the top of the top on my makan list for the night.. i tell you.. by the fun of choosing your own fish + clip ordering + patiently waiting for the fish + steaming hot while serving + good soya sauce.. omg i can eat it with 2 bowls of rice la.. hoho.. actually my stomach was filled by 70% of the fish dishes ONLY on that night.. =p

the green tea pudding in a bamboo charcoal stick!!!! it is fun as you have to suck the pudding out from the bamboo stick.. hoho.. lets forget about being feminine la.. =p

last but not least.. the movenpick ice cream from switzerland!!!! they have chocolate vanilla and some other flavours.. but..

i fell in love with their strawberry sorbet!!!! (=

and something i would avoid from the buffet.. which is..

the siulungbao!!!! its dry and not edible.. eeeeeee.. -_-"

it was my unusual buffet experience.. normally i would pay more attention to oyster, mussel, salmon and sushi eating which jagoya didnt fail in supply.. but i was hooked by their variety of fishes on ice indeed.. hoho.. when i see fish my eye o_O!

i am glad theres a place for a fish lover now.. with unlimited supply and cooking style leh.. and i really love their steamed fish! (=

port dickson trip

one of my friend organised a trip to port dickson on monday.. we planned to depart kl straight after work because the following day was a public holiday.. we went with 3 cars.. me and my group left abit later and by the time we reached lukut was already 9:30pm+

all of us promised to meet at restoran lucky seafood at lukut before seremban..

it was my first time trying out this curry chicken in a bun.. what a unique dish came in a hugh bun but i found it too sweet for a curry (chinese curry type).. anyway i curi most of my favourite curry potatoes.. hoho..

after the late dinner we headed to our friend's family chalet at port dickson.. the chalet was just a few minutes walking distance from the sea.. we dumped our belongings in the chalet and went for a night walk along the beach.. it was an eye opener for me to see hundreds of baby crabs crawling along the seashore.. i was really scared that i would step on them.. *goose bump*

the following day we went for brunch at a nearby restaurant.. i ordered the lou su fan and it was not bad for only rm3.. (= after we fed our stomach we splitted into a few groups.. majority went for swimming in the beach.. one went for fishing and some (us!) went for a joyride.. we almost landed in the ostrich farm for an ostrich ride but back off after we touched the entrance.. hoho..

initially we planned to drive down to melacca but u-turn back to seremban town.. we thought we could save the melacca trip for dinner later at night since we had to go back to pd to pick up the fishing guy.. i assume there wasnt much in a small town like seremban and we stopped by seremban parade for mcdonalds.. hoho.. funny enough though we went all the way to seremban for watsons and guardian shopping.. =p

i zoomed 5 times (the max) just to capture that cute chubby gal.. she was happily munching and i hope she could finish the 2 happy meals.. *kidding*

we drove back to port dickson to fetch our fishing friend and headed back to seremban for dinner.. (yes we had forsaken our melacca lukluk and ikan bakar *boo*) upon arriving the town.. my friend called up his pal to direct us the way to the famous seremban siew pow shop..

the siew pau (pork) was in hot popular demand.. i bought a few for my supper.. (=

eh.. i couldnt resist the pau even it was almost dinner time.. i chomped one and it was still warm!!! freshly baked from the oven.. yummy.. i tried their pineapple tart too but i still prefer the siew pau..

we went to this choy kee for seafood dinner..

according to my friend's seremban pal.. it was a good place for big crabs!

i am not a crab / prawn lover but once in awhile i dont mind to join in the fun by cracking down the shells.. (=

we opted for 2 types of crab cookings.. my friends knew me as a lazybone and they granted me the extra privilege to target only on the big juicy crab claws.. hoho.. (=

i guess it was the first time in my whole life taken so much of crabs (besides talking crabs.. hoho!)

back to the fish.. it was such a rip off!! it cost rm51 for such a tiny little steamed fish! and the soy sauce was not even good at all! omg they thought we were tourists and tried to con us ka.. luckily we had a fish expert with us.. after a few fishy talks and some banging on the table (minus the banging part).. they settled with a minus rm24 for the fish.. o_O

hrm.. i wont bongchan there anymore.. eventhough the crabs were really good (can you imagine those annoying flies were also trying hard to land on them.. thats how good it was).. eh.. lets skip kk.. i guess we can have a better seafood with a better price in kl ya.. (=

the other day my boss was celebrating his birthday.. and being one year older (hoho) and being kind again he belanja all of us a great lunch.. (=

he chose the uzen japanese restaurant at concorde hotel.. he always goes there for makan thats why all the waitresses greet and joke with him happily whenever they see him.. he is a jovial person like me.. hoho..

it was previously known as nanbantei before renovation.. the food was so-so back then together with its ambience.. but now..

it has transformed to a more classy look and indeed the food are more savory.. (=

what is it? hoho.. an ufo on top of each table.. the lighting is beautiful.. (=

our boss had pre-ordered our food so they could be served immediately once we reached there.. so it led to a few (or more) minutes minus the freshness.. =(

eh.. after the meal its dessert time! we pujuk our boss until he surrendered and ordered us the green tea ice cream.. hoho.. it was supposedly his big day but in return he bought us lunch plus extra! *muaaak*

anyway we bought him a surprise birthday cake and a pewter set from royal selangor.. 6 tall and 2 short candles.. (=

the birthday boy should finish the whole barrel of alcohol here.. hoho.. kidding la.. he quitted alcohol and smoking years ago to fulfill a healthy life..

i am so blessed with a nice boss and really hope that he will stay healthy always.. (=

13 hours in singapore

we had a crazy idea a few days ago.. my buddy asked why not we drive out from kl during the weekend.. so i recommended her the destination of singapore.. hoho.. and here came our 21 hours journey! we had an early breakfast at 5am on saturday morning and started our journey at 6am.. we reached singapore at 10+.. then we looked for our friends at bishan and had our first round neighbourhood shopping in junction 8 bishan..

hoho.. how could i resist the temptation of mos burger la.. everytime a must eat whenever i am in singapore.. (=

so i had my brunch again eventhough i was quite fulled.. the tsukune rice burger.. =)~

then just opposite the mos burger was this mcdonalds which they launched their own rice burgers too.. o_O

around 1pm we headed to the orchard road.. this year my sister didnt attend the singapore fashion festival which she never failed for the past consecutive years.. perhaps she was bored with the same old fashion shows over and over again.. =p

each year a numerous fashion shows are held in the temporary huge white tent just outside the takashimaya..

it was sponsored by the mercedes benz.. and you could see the ads all across the orchard road..

time is limited.. we splitted and went for our own 5 hours shopping spree and agreed to meet at paragon at 7pm for dinner.. see the crowd? they are everywhere! -_-"

i started from takashimaya.. then atria.. the scotts.. far east.. shaw parade.. tangs.. hmv.. wanted to go to centrepoint too but u-turned half way and back to paragon.. my legs were sore after how many kms walking.. o_O

the art of the fashion mosaic just outside the paragon.. aqua blue.. i liked it.. (=

as planned we went to ding tai fung at paragon for dinner.. we all exhausted after a long day.. it must be true that everyone must queue for anything in singapore.. we waited almost half and hour for our turn.. everywhere are people people and people! -_-"

but the siulungbao was worthed the queue loh.. i tried to sling the bao a few times and the soup didnt leak out.. good skin ah.. =p

lets dipped them in vinegar with ginger slice.. and the chili oil was just perfect for my egg fried rice later.. =)~

yesss my pork chop and egg fried rice.. not bad especially the egg rice.. very fragrant.. can anyone tell me if the ding tai fung at ss2 is the same joint? heard that it is not but i thought it was all the while.. o_O

hoho.. my ex-colleague cum good friend and her bf.. arent they look-alike? =p

after the dinner one of my friend still wanted to shop! so we spared her another hour and the rest of us went to balcony in hmv for a drink..

hrm.. the beer is cheap as compared to kl.. the happy hour rate is buy one get one free for s$12..

theres a jacuzzi outside the balcony.. isit for us to rest our sore legs after a heavy shopping? o_O

we finished our day at 9+ and followed our friends back to bishan.. one of my friend asked to go for the ministry of sound.. heard that was a club newly opened in clarke quay early this year.. but i suggested to go back to kl straight since we shopped and bought enough.. i was tired and didnt feel like shopping anymore on the following day.. so we packed and left singapore at 11pm the same day.. hoho.. our most crazy 13 hours singapore spree ended here.. it was a last minute escapade since the cherating trip.. and i almost fell sick due to the humid weather outside but freezing cold inside the shopping malls..

i am happy because i bought alot of junk foods which i couldnt find in kl.. eg: my favourite calbee potato chips and some japanese rice crackers.. and tasted my mos burger again.. (=

she brought me to this old joint in pj.. somewhere around off jalan universiti.. then i knew i was wrong with its spicy name.. hoho..

she always ordered this bolognese speghetti as she claimed it as one of her best encountered nearby her neighbourhood.. i believed so.. and more cheese please.. (=

i tried their beef lagsana and its delish! hou hou sik! i ever tasted some lagsana which were just like instantly 'ding' from the microwave (outside warm and inside cold -_-") but this one could easily burn my tongue out.. =)~

suchan is famous for their cakes too!

my friend highly recommended me this banoffee pie.. which was derived from fresh banana, toffee and coffee cream.. sedap nya!!!! i am not into too-sweetening stuff and that cake suits my tastebud very well.. (=

i heard that tiramisu is a must-try here too.. (whispering to d.. lets go!)

eh.. extracted this from a hk magazine i read.. i dont think we can find this in malaysia yet.. something similar to siulungbao but this is huge as a palm size! hoho.. imagine how skillful the sifu should be for not leaking out the soup from the thin layer of bao! the interesting fact of this dish is you need a straw to suck out the hot soup beneath the bao before you carry on the meat with vinegar.. ho.. anyone ever try siulungbao with a straw yet.. thats why i like to read hk food magazine.. many new and interesting stuff.. (=

we found a new restaurant and bar near klcc.. we declared it as our new hangout place after work! (=

what a majestic view.. this is kl!!! hoho..

back to the newly found out.. it is located in the ascott service apartment.. a short walking distance from the klcc..

the place is called seven ate nine.. or 789.. what a numerical name.. suddenly i have a funny thought.. why 9 scared of 7? because 7 ate 9 loh.. hoho..

its 30 mins before the sunset... its quite rare to see kids in a bar.. hoho.. and the family seems like enjoying themselves..

the chairs at the bar counter.. my friends said it was comfy.. but i found it -_-"

its always nice to have a glass of chilled beer before the food.. (=

they serve light and heavy.. from oriental to western..

their shanghai udon looks good huh.. next round i gonna try their pizza..

many beautiful and handsome white collars come here for happy hours.. the bar is playing soft lounge music which makes it a great place for chill out.. even the ahmoh floor manager is friendly and chatty..

you can see a nice wall deco before you go up the stair to the upper floor.. it is a dining floor whereas the ground floor is mostly occupied by drinkers.. i mean happy-hourers.. hoho..

even the washroom is unique and cool.. like you get yourself into a spaceship..

i gonna have a long working day the following 12 hours.. so i stopped my alcohol and ordered a mocktail pussy foot instead.. hoho..

dont you feel like resting on their sofa for hours? (=

hrm.. i am still having a terrible hangover since last night! yes its friday night!! hoho.. i drank 2 bottles of hoegaarden beer in chinoz.. then hopped to passion for second round.. i had a few glasses of bombay saphire gin and a tequila shot.. and thats it.. *boom* i was suffering a head spin until now.. but it was a fun night.. i think alcohol comes to a rescue when you are heavy in head.. yes.. i have been thinking alot lately.. =(

the night before me and my friends went to qba located in the westin hotel.. one of my good friend always pestered me to go there but i never did.. because i am not a latin person myself mah.. hoho.. i thought thats a place for salsa people.. how wrong was i! anyway they played cuban music that night.. so qba = cuba ah.. (=

it is a nice and happening place especially on a thursday night.. where they are playing salsa music.. after 10pm the live band starts and the people start dancing salsa and shaking their hips on the dancefloor.. =)~

we were sitted at the bar counter and i really like their ornament.. i noticed alot of mat sallehs hangout here too.. i guess it is because of the cigar smell.. hoho.. oh yes they have a cigar smoking area upstair.. *foodcrazee wink wink*

above me was this angel sculpture and the 'opera feel 'dining area.. it is indeed a romantic dining place for couples!

one of my good friend came from ozzie land so i brought him to asiacafe to have a truly asian feast.. so far i have only been there 3 times but these are the food that hooked me..

asia cafe located near to taylors college subang jaya.. u name it.. they have it.. all sorts of makan varieties can be found here.. even japanese and korean food.. =)~

fried mushrooms.. an interesting stuff.. u could find many different species of mushroom in the dish..

fried wantons / dumplings.. eh.. they should have served with soya sauce with ginger slice instead of chilli oil loh..

steamed soup at seapark

i found out this soup specialty stall in seapark not long ago.. and it has become one of my usual soup-base healthy food place where i hangout at least once a week..

meng kee steam soup stall.. it is operated along the roadside near to the giant supermarket at seapark / taman paramount pj.. the place does look abit unsightly but their regular patrons keep on coming back.. and i am one of them now.. hoho.. they serve many types of steamed soup and the price range from RM4 to RM20+ per bowl.. ya the higher price are for those super duper 补汤 with 劲料! o_O

this is my most favourite herbal chicken soup.. it is tastier than its ginseng chicken soup.. (=

followed by their lotus root pork rib soup.. which is equally good..

then one day i tried their abc soup.. it turned out to be very peppery taste.. but i like it.. hoho..

they serve home-cooked food too.. like my favourite steamed mince pork with salted fish.. yess it can be found here! hoho.. together with potato chicken in oyster sauce.. and steamed white chicken.. blah.. for those who are staying away from home just like me.. you can have a mama taste here.. hoho..

ya i am content with a bowl of nice steamed soup together with a plain rice and a side order of a tofu dish.. that's my usual set dinner here.. (=

hoho.. i promised to post some of my favourite food back in kk sabah.. arghh.. i miss them! )=

ham choi gai kiu fan (hakka).. salted vegie with chicken cube rice.. must dip with chilli and soya sauce.. heaven!

ahhhh.. my bittergourd with beef slice rice.. fu gua ngiu nguk fan (hakka).. it tastes better with black beans (tiu si).. heaven!

the famous duck noodle in papar town which was recommended by a few people.. it does look good right? but i rated it heavenly not! -_-" anyway it was fun roaming around papar town..

and i found out this palm beach villas on the way back from papar.. imagine you have a nice semi-detached house directly facing the sea! yes the sea! and it costs only rm300k+.. where can you find it in kl la!

on the way back from papar we passed by a taiwanese restaurant.. it was situated along the coast.. facing the sea again! anyway sea is everywhere in kk.. hoho.. this taiwanese beef noodle was introduced by my brother.. you know bovril? yup the soup tasted something like that.. hoho.. heaven!

ohlala.. my another must eat when i am back in kk.. the beaufort mee.. i like their greens and the charsiew.. heaven!

it has been years and they still can be found in the foodcourt at wisma merdeka.. my favourite duck meehoon... heaven!

i was hooked by this ja nyuk hor fun(hakka) when i was still a kindergarten kid back in my sandakan hometown.. centuries later (hoho) i could finally taste the same thing in kk again.. eh.. it brought back those sweet memories of my younger days.. the hakka charsiew rice noodle (supposedly).. this round i took the yellow noodle but still.. with the hakka charsiew its heaven!

eh.. lets skip my kk food for awhile.. chinese new year mah.. must 应节 and post some cny food ya.. hoho.. i went for my company dinner 2 nights ago.. and the food was mouthwatering.. eh.. i was testing on my handphone camera shooting so i dare not to enlarge the photos.. =p

xin chinese restaurant at concorde hotel.. the cny dinner course was superb which tagged along lavishly with its price too.. rm120/head.. my boss was generous and he ordered the most expensive 9 course dinner set for us.. woohoo!! all of us o_O and ^_^!!

hoho.. i missed kk.. and glad that i made my trip home.. a simple post of the day.. all about my favourite fish slice meehoon soup joints in kk.. hoho.. i really dont mind to devour it everyday.. (=

the 1st day i went to tian tian in damai to hunt for my favourite food.. which i missed alot..

eh.. how can you taste the omph without these la!!! =)~

do you like tofu salted vegie soup? then surely you will love this..

the second day i went to houng kee in damai too.. which is just beside the tian tian..

a large bowl costs around rm7.50.. a worthwhile bowl bcos the seafood is fresh!

houng kee served a bigger slice.. i prefer their soup and its tastier.. (=

boon wah bak kut teh

hoho.. lets put the pizza aside and have some bah kut teh.. someone is craving for bah kut teh (bkt) from afar.. i hope this post can quench his bkt thirst for the time being.. even it wasnt the best bkt that i have tasted so far.. but when you were hungry.. and when you would like to try something new.. everything also became delicious ya..

restoran boon wah bak kut teh in bukit tinggi klang.. (i just knew about this bukit tinggi in klang and not pahang ok.. ) it was recommended by a friend of mine from klang.. supposedly wanna try out a nearby bkt shop where he said would be a better choice.. (i believe a klang person can find a better bkt place than most of us) but then by the time we reached there it was already 11+am.. the suggested time for the other bkt shop was quite early in the morning.. 6am ok!!!! i hope my friend was joking.. -_-"

i know i know.. some would scream when they saw such amount of fats in the claypot.. but i dont know why.. i couldnt resist them.. hoho.. my friends all knew i love these parts and they always so pandai and ordered the extras for me.. dor jeh dor jeh.. =p what is so special about this bkt: you can choose to add extra spices or peppers in the soup.. thats why they are famous for in that area.. the pepper bah kut teh..

besides soup-based they do serve dried bkt too.. thick soya sauce with dried chilies and cuttlefish.. i am not sure if they can only be found in klang.. :?

hoho.. i like their chicken feet too.. i know some people resist to take a bite on it.. dont be fooled by its outlook ok.. it delicious.. =p after all the food you better drink some hot chinese tea.. *burp*

robata daisaku.. or daisaku robata? -_-" a japanese restaurant which is located in menara keck seng.. beside the westin hotel at jalan bukit bintang kl..

heard that theres alot of japanese love to bring their japanese visitors here.. so you can imagine their food are above average..

light appetizer is always served before you start ordering food..

hoho.. grilled chicken skin.. a great appetizer too..

and some 'yaki' stuff.. which my friend ordered.. hoho.. among all i only know of the name yakitori la.. =p

thank God i picked the right food on that day.. the sweet sauce made it tasted so good.. the yaki soba.. (=

the teriyaki chicken.. almost perfect if only they were grilled in a thinner slice..

the teriyaki salmon.. best served with rice..

hoho.. their saba shioyaki is really good la.. i ordered it as a side order to go with my yaki soba during my first visit.. then the next trip i ordered it again with plain rice.. ohhhh... drooling even now as i think of it..

the sesame ice cream.. my friend loved it so much.. but i want my green tea ice cream!!

yoohoo??? anybody home??? i have been away from blogging ehhh.. almost a month ka.. hoho.. someone sudah bored of my christmas trees huh.. hrm.. okla.. lets turn the christmas trees into a railway station la.. hoho.. someone please dont fall asleep anymore.. -_-

i guess many bloggers have been to this kluang station for their coffee and their kaya/butter toast.. oh.. another makan chain in 1utama beside those fancy fancy food..

my eldest sister and family came down to kl and visited me.. i told them there's a new train station which was built inside the 1utama.. and the kids really believed and thought it was real.. hoho.. kids are so cute.. =p i brought them here and ordered the half-boiled eggs for them.. and the kids just loved them.. (=

someone told me to try out their fried chicken.. hrm.. it was flat.. -_-" i prefer the madam kwan's..

can you spot my drink? hoho.. ya my favourite teh panas (hot tea with milk)! the kaya/butter toast tasted better with the hot drink ah.. (=

The other day me and my friends went for food hunting again.. hoho.. this round we went to sri kembangan (near serdang) to try out the famous spicy soup.. i have no idea how to get there since the restaurant is located in the resident area and need extra turnings.. for those who are staying nearby should have heard of the place ya..

sup pedas ayam kampong.. eh.. i assume thats the name of the restaurant.. hoho.. from the shop's name you can guess that they are specialised in their one-and-only-can-be-found-here village chicken spicy soup and their signature chicken dish..

this is the village chicken spicy soup served in claypot.. it doesnt taste like tomyam or anything else but their spiciness can really get into your nerve.. o_O

sedap nya.. besides village chicken meat.. you can find a hugh portion of pork intestines in the spicy soup too.. trust me la one bowl is just not enough and you will definitely go for second or third round until you are running out of tissue paper.. =p

花雕鸡 (fa diu gai).. ehh.. how to describe it in english term ah? flower carve chicken? hoho.. some wine chicken in a claypot.. delicious too.. (=

you must try this if you are a prawn lover.. big big prawns in chinese wine 黄酒虾.. see how much gingers they have added in? i just love 黄酒.. aii.. spicy soup vs wine soup.. the next day sure kena stomach cramp la.. and i did.. -_-"

tiff's jazz lounge

yo.. we have discovered a nice chillout place again.. hoho.. its located at the starhill gallery.. in day time its called tiffin bay.. at night it transforms to tiff's jazz lounge..

the jazz live band started from 9pm+.. one of my friend was hyperactive that night and after each song he would clap the loudest hands.. finally it caught the pretty and sexy singer 's attention (weeeeweeeeet).. she came to our table and chit chat for awhile with us (90% attention was diverted to him though.. ) for the short glorious moment he gotta suffer our teases for the whole night long.. hoho..

the waitresses were all dressed like santa babes.. in fact the whole starhill was filled with the christmas spirit.. (=

the place was so nice that we went back again on friday night..

their chairs and sofas were tastefully made.. how i wish i could bring one home.. hoho.. the live band was at the end of the corner.. imagine the hyperactive friend of mine waved his hands to the gorgeous singer until she saw it from the far end and waved back once.. -_-"

i just loved my ice blended strawberry which i ordered the same drink on the other night.. (=

wooooooot.. this is good! 6 layered of dark chocolate coatings together with white chocolates.. its the opera cake.. hoho.. i thought i was having a godiva chocolate (kidding!).. and we were all fighting for the first layer.. the most mouthwatering part.. =)~

when we were leaving that time.. we went to their cake counter.. i was attracted by this strawberry cake while my friend wrapped up the last displayed piece of the opera cake as her morning breakfast.. =p

christmas is coming.. hohoho.. i will compile and post up a christmas tree collection in one fine day..

ole cafe

the other day after dinner at yoko's we proceeded to another place for drinks and desserts..

* the photos was taken in a very dim place so please bear with me for the quality.. =p

we walked along the changkat bukit bintang and finally stopped at ole cafe.. at first i thought it was another football cafe.. OLE OLE OLE OLE~~~~ hoho.. i was wrong all the while.. =p you could smell the strong aroma of coffee while stepping into the cafe..

i ordered the beer coffee from the coffee list.. i was sooooooooooooooo regret after the first sip! -_-" it was mixed from tiger beer + espresso.. perhaps for others it might be a good drink but not for me.. the taste was just errrr abit weird..

but the waiter was being nice and friendly and he replaced me with another drink of my choice.. (what to do.. me 人见人爱 mah.. hohoho.. someone puke please! -_-" ) i chose the kyoto rice tea.. it came with a cute kitten cup set and a teapot..

dessert as in waffle with strawberry ice cream which hide underneath it.. there you see the orange peel slices that gave it abit of bitterly taste..

i went one round in the cafe.. then i came across a bookshelf with all sort of books from english to chinese to japanese and so on.. besides books they have board games like monopoly, cluedo, pictionary, jenga, chess and tarrot cards too..

haa.. this is a cool solo sitting with own privacy assured.. you can bring your laptop (online with wifi)and lay comfortably bending your head with cusion and stretching your legs.. people can just sit for hours and reading books / comics over here.. (=

it was started as drizzling then raining heavily that night.. while waiting for the rain to stop.. we played the monopoly (malaysia version).. hoho.. i was so excited! see the green houses and the property cards? all mine ok.. hohoho.. my friends all kena heart attack while rolling dices and passing by my green houses area.. they concluded rather to spend their sweet time in jail instead of paying me $$$.. hoho.. yehhhhhhhhhhhhhs.. conquer and victory! (=

the following day we celebrated a friend's birthday.. we let her decide where to eat.. coincidentally she chose a german restaurant at the same changkat bintang area.. so we had dinner there and on second round we brought her to the same cafe again.. i bet the waiter still recognised us for the sake of my beer coffee.. hoho.. this time hooray the 'private room' was vacant and we occupied it.. (= nice sofa and soft cushion to cuddle.. you can dimmer the light according to your preference too.. just like the karaoke room.. i felt homeeeeeeeeeeeee.. hoho.. zZz..

i ordered a hot chocolate.. a kitten cup again.. hoho..

we ordered a liquor coffee for our birthday girl.. it cost rm16+ ! o_O

then a surprise birthday cake for her.. tiramisu cake from alexis bangsar.. it was hidden in my friend's car until the right moment only he brought the cake in.. i was stunned to look at the cake too! imagine just the 4 of us sharing this big size cake! o_O

do you feel like having a slice for yourself too? but you can always go to the alexis bangsar or ampang for their cakes..

yuritei at sentul park koi centre

the other day i went to jalan ipoh for dimsum with my friends.. one of my dear friend told me that she found out an art centre in sentul with a japanese restaurant nearby.. she kept on mentioning that she saw a big fish over there.. she was so excited until she wanted to bring me over to discover the new place myself..

when i saw the place.. i was like wuoaaa.. couldnt believe my eyes that i could actually find this japanese feel in kl.. nice huh this view??????? its a japanese tea house called yuritei in sentul area.. 2 months old only.. i was so fulled from dimsum and no more space in my stomach to try out their food yet.. perhaps in the next trip.. (=

it was so peaceful as i walked along the path.. hoho.. 鸟语花香.. (=

just follow the steps and they will lead you to a koi breeding centre.. 大开眼界..

there are a few big ponds with hundreds of big kois.. (i have never seen such a big amount in my life!) according to the worker there.. the selling price is rm20000 each.. o_O!!! but the koi is as big as a human thigh and very beautiful!

hoho.. then i came across a few ponds with small kois.. they are selling at rm100 each.. (=

ehh.. as i stared from the koi centre.. there again the yuritei.. could you believe that you are able to find this in sentul??? hoho.. 世外桃园就在此地呀.. (=

bamboo trees.. reminded me of the crouching tiger hidden dragon.. hoho..

after we came out from the japanese koi centre.. we went ahead to the art centre.. look at the sofa.. they are made of cement.. very artistic ya.. (=

welcome to the kuala lumpur performing arts centre.. they are playing julius caesar starting from 021205..

as usual.. i like to peep at the washrooms.. hoho.. it is clean.. (=

ehh.. when you feel like having a quiet and relaxing moment in a sunny day.. just drop by at this place and feel the 大自然 la.. its at the new sentul park.. (=

there are a few restaurants and pubs opened in damansara perdana area.. supposedly a booming suburb ya..

this is friendster cafe.. ehh.. i dunno how they get the copyright.. copying the famous online friendship portal ka.. or are they under the same management.. ehh.. anyway my first impression was that they are sharing the same concept as starbucks.. even the logo is similar la.. eeeee.. o_O

besides coffee drinks and cakes.. they do serve heavy food too.. i ordered a main course and then a mantao with butter came for free.. i like their plates and cups.. all of them imprinted with 'friendster' wordings.. especially their coffee cup.. cute! (=

another free of charge items.. ehh.. i thought they were shooters by first glance (happyyyyyyy.. thought 拾到宝 hoho..) but lets look carefully.. its kiwi sorbet in orange skin la.. hoho.. so cute.. (=

look at their logo.. similar to starbucks right.. eh.. boleh ka like that.. o_O but i love my drink.. its ice blended mango.. (=

my foooooood.. the chicken chop.. hoho.. the bbq sauce was good! the green apple salad not bad too.. but the chips.. -_-"

eh.. can you believe that you can actually find a quite ok-lah japanese restaurant with a very down-to-earth reasonable price within the kl city area?!

sky down one live wine house.. hoho.. just kidding la.. it was just direct translated from the chinese wordings.. hoho..

tenka daiichi ramen japanese noodle restaurant is in wisma central.. eh.. the old building is just located in between the klcc and menara citibank.. know where ka..

hoho.. their menu is actually come with 8r pictures for your easy ordering.. but you need someone who can read japanese to order their specialties *like this* which they are only written in japanese hiragana.. this is some fried bittergourd and beansprout with thin sliced layer fish (those brown onion sliced-look-alike.. according to my friend).. the sliced layer fishes were dancing and moving like worms while they were serving.. amazing huh.. too thin slices and blew by aircon perhaps hoho.. tasted good!!

this is another cold bittergourd dish which mixed with onion and sliced pork (fatttt.. my favourite.. hoho) in vinegar.. very appetising! (=

charsiew ramen for rm6.90 only! daiiiii..

hoho.. pork fillet set that only cost around rm8.90??!! unbelievable in kl city right? hoho.. sorry la the gyoza is ordered separately.. but still... CHEAP! (=

i was first introduced to this hideout by one of my japanese colleague a few years back.. they havent changed.. the price is still cheap as ever.. what do you think.. a mug of beer that cost only rm5 leh!!!!! hoho.. come come come to this live wine house.. cheers! =p

ehh.. there are about 10 restaurants and bars at the new hilton hotel kl sentral.. i have been to the zeta bar a few times for drinks.. ok just beside zeta bar is chynna.. a chinese restaurant which i wanna blog about now.. (=

chynna is always packed.. luckily i have made a reservation beforehand but still gonna wait for extra 15 minutes.. -_-"

so i went to roam around with my 2 friends while waiting for our turn.. i came across an art painting which really fascinated me.. the theme was all the tall buildings around the world ka.. i guess the artist painted it before the exist of taipei101..

15 minutes later we went back to the reception counter.. aiks.. still not yet our turn wo.. -_-"

just outside chynna was this nice zodiac ceiling.. i have been staring at the ceiling for long while waiting for our turn.. starving.. :~(

yoohoo.. finally its our turn.. the waitress led us back into a chinese-emperor ancient timezone.. hoho..

after our welcome tea.. *refreshing* we had pearl jasmine 珍珠香片 in a teapot at rm8++ per head.. 3 of us cost rm24++.. wuoaaa.. -_-"

i forsake my favourite 皮蛋瘦肉粥 and ordered a duck meat congee as appetizer..

no regret leh.. look at the 料.. the congee was delicious! (=

siumai.. ehh.. the size is as big as those you can find in hong kong ah! (=

and my favourite crispy carrot cake.. hoho..

all of the above dimsums are delicious but abit pricey which starts from rm8++ per plate.. but i guess its really worth it since you dine like an emperor here.. (=

after dimsum treat.. i ordered guai lin gou (herbal jelly) as dessert..

i was indeed very impressed by it! just imagine the lin gou leaves that blossomed from the barley seed ah.. hoho.. =p

the bill came in a packet.. 5 stars dining experience leh!

with a 5 stars chef ka.. nice food and lets treat yourself once as an emperor back in the ancient time.. please make a reservation to avoid disappointment ah.. (=
